November Snow?!

Winters arrived early! Bringing with it some snow! Not as much as last year, obviously, but still more than we usually get. The dogs had a blast. We went for some lovely walks, took some lovely photos and then kept warm. Ernie and Kez had great fun playing, and Indi had great fun catching snowballs :). Lola was just Lola :). Sherman was very confused as to why everything was suddenly white!

But everythings melted now, and I doubt we'll get anymore now. But we enjoyed the little amount we had :).

Poor Ernie couldnt go for a walk today though as he was limping. Probably the first time in his life hes properly limped and had to miss a walk while all the others went out. I think he must have hurt it while running full speed through the snow with Kez yesterday, so we'll have to see how it goes. Poor little Ernie :(.

So for now some photos from our walks yesterday. Indi has been a lot better on walks since my last post, I took him out on his own for a couple of days and he has definantly improved. Hes such a sensitive boy :).

Meet... our new Bullmastiff x Dogue de Bordeaux puppy Sherman!

Yes thats right, we have a new puppy! Please welcome Sherman, a little tiny 8 week old Bullmastiff cross Dogue De Bordeaux (French mastiff)! We reserved him a couple of weeks ago, and today (a day earlier than planned) I came home to a new addition! He's obviously not going to be a sporty dog, but of course he will be a member of the family so there will be updates :).

Indi absolutely adores him. Hes suddenly become funny around other dogs again (sigh). I can see the reason though, a few days ago Ernie went running over to an aggressive dog and wouldnt leave him alone. Typical annoying Ernie. Ever since Indi's been a bit funny, but we wont give up :).

But yes, Indi adores the puppy :). Kez loves the puppy too, but was a bit freaked out when he tried suckling from her. Ernie hates him :). And Lola's in her strop. But its gone well, its the first time we've introduced a puppy to Indi and Kez (while shes been with us, she did have Koko) and they both did very well.

So we will have to see what happens. He's going to be a big boy :). So some photos of his mum and litter, and from today, his first day with us! The 1st photo was taken at the breeders the first time I met him :).

Enjoy :).

Autumn fun fun fun!

Autumn has arrived! The weathers been not too bad so far, but its meant to get a lot worst next week, with weather warnings and everything!
We've had a good first week though. Lots of walks, lots of mud and lots of leaves! Indi is very happy about the leaf situation ;). On Wednesday I took Kez and Ernie out together, forgetting I had my camera on me so no photos, then took Indi on his own. Indi's suddenly got worst with reacting to dogs on walks, so we need to work on that. We had so much fun! The sea was calm enough for swimming for the first time in ages! So, I went for a little paddle and Indi went for a good swim. Hes still splashing a lot, but is growing in confidence more and more.

So here are some photos from our walk on Wednesday. Its a shame our swimming sessions are getting fewer and far between as it gets colder, just as Indi is becoming a real swimmer! :)

Ernie's obedience competition!

Well, we have had a very busy weekend! On Saturday me and Ernie went to an obedience competition. It was our first proper obedience competition where it is just purely obedience. We'd competed before, but came 6th and he hadnt done that well after being spooked by skateboards.

Well, it seems to be a trend, something spooking him in obedience! We went with our trainer, and it was a great experience for Ernie to be around completely new people and new dogs. He went for a walk with my trainers 4 dogs, 2 collies, a gsd collie mix and a little German Spitz. He liked the German spitz!
The first obedience round went brilliant. His heelwork was good for a first competition in that environment. He wasnt happy about putting his bum down on the floor for a sit and down. Typical Ernie! But it was concrete, in his defence! He did a brilliant sit stay however. He broke his down, unfortunately but only stood up, he didnt actually wander. He broke his recall, unfortunately, but this was plainly due to confidence issues. He came 1st anyhow, even if he was the only in the class... and was only a few points off qualifying for Crufts.
The 2nd round went disastrous. He refused to do anything, he was too busy panicking about the sound of the rain on the roof. Unfortunately, it was indoors and it was extremely echoey. So we didnt come anywhere for that, but thats ok. It showed us where we need to improve, and maybe next year we will have better luck! Yes, we are going to stick at it now seeing as Ernie doesnt do compete in flyball anymore. We have the whole winter to work on it, so we shall see. He did me proud anyhow, and for a first competition was so good!

So, no photos! But clocks have gone back and our walks will start to get darker now. Ernie's happy now the cold months have come. Will be soon time to bring out the dogs coats! Although, I doubt it will be as cold of a winter as last year... last year really was one very cool winter!
